Wells Residence
Amherst, Massachusetts
Located in Amherst, the former Well’s residence was designed by C&H Architects as a modern farmhouse built into an east-facing hillside, capturing dramatic views of the Pelham Hills. The site design features Goshen stone terraces, retaining walls, and steps that meander down the slope, linking patios and outdoor gathering spaces. At the lower floor elevation, a stone terrace opens to an expansive field and surrounding forest, visually extending the landscape beyond the property boundaries. The planting design incorporates a rich blend of textures, seasonal color, and specimen plantings that enhance both the architecture and the home’s prominent position on the hillside.
